How it works

How a table gets made

No showroom and no checkout. You pick what you like, I price it, and we build it in our shop one table at a time.

Jeff Blecher, NWA Wood Design

The four steps

  1. Pick a starting point

Start from a design, a photo, or just the size of your room. I can adjust length, width and seating on any of the ten designs.

  2. See a ballpark price

Use the estimator on this site for a ballpark, then send your picks. I'll confirm the details with you and put together a written quote through Square that you can review and pay online.

  3. We build it

Once the quote is approved, your table goes on our build schedule and we make it to order in our Bentonville shop from the hardwood you picked.

  4. Bring it home

When your table is finished, we schedule delivery and arrange careful transport to your home. Then the only thing left to do is fill the chairs.

Questions

Good things to know

Don't see your question? Ask Jeff.

What does a custom dining table cost?

Sets start at $1,773 for cherry, 3½ ft square, with four chairs. A red oak table, 3 by 5 feet, with four chairs comes to about $1,861. The size, the wood and the seating move the price from there. The estimator gives you a ballpark, and I confirm your exact price in a written quote.

Which wood should I choose?

Cherry is the most affordable. Hickory is the hardest and handles the most wear. Walnut and cherry are the classic heirloom woods. The woods guide compares all seven side by side.

Can you build with exotic woods?

Yes. Pick from our seven standard hardwoods, or tell us the species you want. If you prefer a different wood or an exotic variety, we can usually find it, and we'll price your table in it.

Can I change the size or the chairs?

Yes. Every table is built to order, so the size, the wood and the number of chairs are up to you. Each design is shown with a chair style that suits it, and you can choose any of the nine chair styles or order the table on its own.

Is there a deposit, and how does payment work?

I send quotes and invoices through Square, so you get a written quote you can review and pay online. Half down puts your table on the build schedule. The other half is due when your table is finished.

Do you build for customers outside Northwest Arkansas?

Yes. We build tables for homes across Arkansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, Texas and Tennessee. Every table is built in our Bentonville shop. Delivery is arranged for each order, and your quote includes the delivery details for your location.

Is there a warranty?

Yes. For one year from delivery, we cover your table against cracking, splitting and warping. Read the warranty.

How long does a table take?

It depends on the design, the wood and what is already on the build schedule. Ask me when you send your picks and I'll tell you where things stand.

How do I care for a solid wood table?

Wipe up spills right away, use trivets under hot dishes and coasters under drinks, and keep the table out of direct heat. I'll tell you how to care for the finish on your table.

Can I buy a lazy susan or serving tray on its own?

Yes. We still make hardwood and epoxy lazy susans and serving trays. Ask about one, or add one to your table in the estimator.

Tell me about your room.

Send the design you like, the wood and a rough size. I'll reply with questions or a custom quote.
